Energy
Diana,
What? Sleep more? Are you kidding! I do about three or four
hours a day now - and even that is far too much. There are other
ways you know. You can use your mind at higher rates while
resting at the same time. Also, you can speed up your brain while
at the same time slowing down your body. There is a difference.
Just because one can think faster doesn't mean one has to burn
out faster. Change your belief about this, and you will also
change your experience.
Here, try it on. First think of something that you absolutely
believe. Is the sun going to come up tomorrow? Do you need air to
stay alive? Look at, or pretend to look at these absolute
beliefs. Pay attention to the location where you see, or pretend
to see this representation. Now, remembering where you have that
absolute belief, let's elicit another belief. This time I want
you to think of something that could or could not be. What are
you going to have for lunch next year on the second Tuesday of
the third month? Could be this, or that, or maybe nothing at all?
Now, in the location where you keep that "could be"
belief, I want you to build, or pretend to build the possibility
that you could think as fast as you want to, can time distort at
will, all while your body stays calm and relaxed. So much so,
that you could, in this fantasy, allow your body to be even more
relaxed while your perception continues speeding up on the
inside. This way, you can fantasize about having the experience
of your body slowing down as your body slows down as well, giving
you even more of an edge.
Now, after having built, or pretended to have built this new
possibility, I want you to look, or pretend to look at that
absolute belief. Do you need air to stay alive? Is the sun going
to come up tomorrow? And as you do, I also want you to take that
new possibility, that it is possible to for you to speed up your
thinking while being fully relaxed, and push it, or pretend to
push it off in the distance, way in the distance. And I don't
want you to bring it back in until you are ready to bring it into
the location where you keep your absolute belief. And I want you
to do it very, very quickly. Do it three times as fast as you
possibly can do it.
You see, beliefs are not a part of the physical reality, they
are under our control. You can choose to believe whatever you
want to believe. What I find to be the problem with people's
capabilities is in what they were choosing to believe. As we go
through life we find ourselves believing one thing. However, and
in time, some of the things we believed often change. We find
ourselves believing something else. And if you were to check with
your own personal history, you would find many examples of having
believed one thing, only to later change you mind. Now, since
this is something we do anyway, changing our beliefs that is, why
not change them deliberately? This way we can build in whatever
we want to build in.
When I decide I want to pace a particular person, I don't!
Instead I completely adopt that person's belief system. I fully
and quickly try on that person's model of the world. It's called
instant rapport. I congruently believe that I can, and my
experiences bear this out for me, time and time again. As far as
I am concerned, there is no reality, we make it up as we go
along. Is that a true statement? I really don't know, but when I
chose to believe it, I can do things that most people believe
can't be done. Since they already believe that it can't be done
they don't try anything new. Me, I start out by believing that
what I want to do has already been done, it's just a matter of
figuring out how.
As you can see, you can change beliefs at will, but always
leave a way out. I have tried on a reality or two in my day that
seemed like a good idea at first, but when I got there --
arggggggg. So I fire off the anchor and get out. When I first
decided to become immersed in NLP, I started off by building in
an entire new belief system. I built in a complete new childhood
where my grandparents were the top NLP trainers the world ever
knew. And I brought that reality through my parents and right
into me. I was born into NLP. I contextualized this reality so
that I could use it as a tool. I believed it totally while in
that context.
If you stop now and think about some of the things you have
chosen to believe - did you really choose? Or did you? Think
about it. How many beliefs could you change or update, that after
having changed them you can find more choices for yourself?
Before learning, before thinking about what you want to learn,
before you even think about learning at all, build in a new
belief. I built one in that says that I can learn to do anything,
and that I can learn how quickly and easily. And that learning is
fun, and pleasantly exciting. And the more I learn the quicker I
use my brain, and the quicker I use my brain the more relaxed
life becomes.
Now, after having built in this new belief, think about what
you want to learn, what you want to experience. You may find that
building in believing that you can and will be able to learn
anything, that learning is fun, you will choose differently what
it is you are going to learn next. That your choices, the
possibilities that exist for you, well, they seem to continue
opening up. It works quite the opposite than you had thought.
Less choices, more burn-out. More choices, faster thinking and
you can experience more and more ease and relaxation. And when it
all drops unconscious, you will find yourself making better
choices, enjoying things even more, and always having another way
to do anything.
And, since we are building in new beliefs, don't you think it
would be a good idea to build in a belief that you can always
find a way to become healthier while feeling stronger with every
breath you take. Thinking about how many different ways you can,
and will, be able to find so many choices that lead toward the
best this life has to offer. And if you find that life isn't
offering what your dreams are made of, change life. Have fun,
better orgasms, closer relationships, greater sensory acuity,
behaviors that work. And when you find something isn't working -
do something else. Make it fun. Learn from children the kind of
delight that knows nothing of self seriousness. Laugh at
yourself, don't wait for a reason, do it now - and do it
deliberately.
I always say, "If you make what you are doing too
important, you are forgetting what is important." Put things
in perspective. Take anything other than the best feelings you
can have and bring those representations down to size. Never mind
- forget it. However if, in the future, you feel that you really
need to blow things out of proportion look at your own worth as a
human being. Make these pictures bigger and brighter, bring them
closer - wrap them around you now, and look at your own future.
It's not about what you do, what you learn, what you have, it's
about something so much more -- it's about you! You're worth the
very best future anyone could have, or be having, even now.
Because -- it's kinda like being -- and you are. And when I look
off into the universe I can see no ending in sight. Only one more
wonderment after another. More stars, more planets, with more
being born all of the time. I see sheer and absolute wonderment,
and to think I, like you, am a part of it all.
Kind of mind blowing, and a good idea at that. So many
different people stopping, giving up. Thinking that they have a
clue, that we have figured anything out. How could we? No way!
The future truly is ------ undiscovered country!
I guess I got a bit carried away here, but I don't really
care. I would rather be carried away on my own passion, than
settle for anything. There is never a need to settle into
anything other than one's absolute best. I know that I am worth
that much - what about you? Do think about it.
It doesn't matter where you have been, what you have already
done. The future is still wide open. And you can go into it any
way you choose. Take any five of the best feelings you have ever
had and realize that this is only the beginning of how good you
can feel. Turn up those good feelings, and when anybody asks how
you are doing, start here, and let it build. Put a smile on your
own face, let it become contagious. Not only externally. Make a
choice, build in a new belief, or two, or three -- go for it!!!
Me, I am having a party - and it's called life! And I am not
about to spend any more than three or four hours a day sleeping
it away. Besides, I believe that that is all that I need, and so
too must my body, as I am in no way lacking in energy. In fact I
have plenty in reserve! Want to buy some?
Be Well
