Who is Carmine Baffa?

Carmine can only be accurately described as a harbinger. He has always been ahead of his time, and when he was very young, circumstances put him in a situation in which he was forced to fend for himself while literally living on the streets of New York City. Many of the situations he went through forced him to have to constantly come up with innovative ways in which to cope with a impossible situations. He not only survived those years in tact, but he also developed a special sense about people; About how people are able to do the things they do, whether they like it or not. More, he has also developed an ability that goes into helping others change things very quickly.
Carmine attended his first "formal" hypnosis training In 1976. It was during that training that he had realized the wealth of skills he had developed while growing up in the hard environment he was forced to deal with. As a result of this realization, he set out to design training programs he could use for transferring the skills and methodologies he had developed. By the time he began studying the many other therapeutic models, he had already developed a rapid and effective system for successfully eliminating many of the symptoms people were seeking therapy for. Over the last twenty two years Carmine has mastered many of these therapeutic models, including, but not limited to, Gestalt Therapy, NLP, Richard Bandler's DHE(TM), Freudian, Cognitive Therapy, Erickisonian Hypnosis, Virginia Satir's Family Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Silva Mind Control, and many others. His goal in learning those models was simple. Before setting out to improve something, Carmine likes to work from both the inside, and outside of the model being improved upon. And, because he sees himself as a modeler, he has also stepped outside of the many therapeutic models and learned, electronics engineering, mechanics, flying, air conditioning and refrigeration, management, sales, public speaking, computers, internet communication, mathematics, animal training, jewelry design, data modeling, acting, video producing, photography, machining, aviation, and a host of others.
I once asked him why he has put so much time into so many different things. He more or less said that his reasoning was simple.
"As a professional communicator, the more you know, the better able you will be to enter into another persons world model. And having superlative information gathering skills is one of the keys to being an effective communicator. When you are forced to guess, you are taking the chance of being inaccurate. But, when you KNOW, when you have the knowledge and experience to understand how another person is thinking, and why, you are opening up the opportunity for an astounding level of success when assisting this other person. Not only that, but when you are gathering information, the experiences you have had, will be the determining factor in your own ability to understand the information you are gathering."
Carmine believes in studying to mastery as many dominions of skill as possible.
"It's not a matter of just learning what you need to learn only to do what you do well in a specific context. But more about learning all that you can. About as many things as you can. The brain has a near unlimited storage capability. And the more you use it, the better it works. And, when people are stuck, it is usually when they go into the different context than the one they were stuck in to they find the quick solution. Life is a gift. The fact that we can learn as much as we want to learn, and in as many different domains as we wish...well, that is a gift too. When we go to school, it's like they say you have LEARNED this or have LEARNED that. They never tell you that the real learning is in our everyday life, and not only in a classroom. That is what is so great about the trainings we do. They are ALL experiential. It is people doing things with other people. And the reference to all the other things we use only helps the process"
According to Carmine, there is no excuse for anything other than results.
"Simply stated, the more things you know about, the more flexibility you will have in how you are seeing any individual situation. And, when faced with either a difficulty, or an opportunity to come up with a new solution, the additional sets of knowledge and experience will be invaluable....you can sort through all of those different domains of skill you have acquired, this is going to give you an edge. You are going to be able to have this decided advantage in what you are able to come up with as a solution. You will simply be able to accomplish more."
Carmine is a man whom is committed to mastering as many different of domains of skill as he
possibly can prior to leaving this planet. He is a man whom will always find a way. And, in his trainings he consistently demonstrates his vast knowledge and skill for the sole purpose of helping the participants gain the outcomes they desire. He is one who is able to see the best in anyone, period.
When he is asked how he can know so much, he replies, using the technology he has created, Human Performance Engineering
(TM). He says learning doesn't have to be a random act. If we can understand what the key pieces are in HOW we learn, then we can accelerate the process of learning. And still I have not described who Carmine Baffa is. He is warm, kind hearted, and knows how to bring laughter into any context. He is diverse, with actual working experience in sixteen different domains of skill. He is pragmatic and to the point, says what is on his mind, and is never concerned with his public image.

About The Writings
As it stands now, most of the writings listed on this site are actual newsgroup responses in which Carmine was engaging in a discussion, responding to a question, or offering a comment on a particular subject matter. What I find most educational about this style of writing, is the spontaneous nature of it's style. Carmine didn't take any time to think about what he was going to write, he didn't edit what he did write, he just posted his responses as they came out. There were other people on the other end of most of the writings contained on this page. He didn't write in a vacuum. Also, many of these writings have gone through many hands prior to being posted on this site. So if you find any errors in spelling, or whole words that are missing, please send me an email telling me where they are so that I can get those errors corrected.
A Personal Note
Many times, when I have read through the writings on this site, I have actually felt that Carmine was addressing me personally. I have found so much of the information on this site to be invaluable. Most of all, each time I come back and read through, I am always able to take something different away with me. Perhaps some of this is due to the fact that I continue learning these skills at many different levels. And as I learn, I am also changing my perceptions. With each training I attend, Carmine continues to surprise me completely. Each time I feel I have reached my goals with NLP, Carmine comes back with changes in this technology which are truly revolutionary. I am sincerely grateful that I am able to work so closely with Carmine. He is an amazing human being FIRST, a phenomenally gifted trainer secondly. He possesses a focused tenacity that never lets go. When someone comes to him, whether to learn the skills he teaches, or for a personal session, he never stops until that person can use what Carmine is teaching. He truly believes that anyone can learn to do anything. There are no limits, only the things people have learned how to do. And if something doesn't work for someone, it's not because people are defective, broken, or in any way incapable. But rather, what they have learned to do, the thing which is not working as well as it could, is only something they have learned to do well. And if they can learn to do one thing. . . . . .
